You Can Help

BE A HERO
Ways to register.
Anyone can say YES to organ, eye and tissue donation. If you haven’t already said YES at the BMV, there are three easy ways to register.

Register online. You will need a valid Ohio driver license or state identification card.

Say “YES” at the BMV when you receive or renew your driver license or state identification card. You should also talk to your family about your wishes so they can help honor your decision.

Complete and mail a Donor Registry enrollment form.
New Drivers
You're ready to drive. With that responsibility comes the chance to do something you may never have thought of: Saving the life of someone else.
When you get your temporary license, driver license or even your state identification card, you will be asked at the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles if you want to be an organ, eye and tissue donor. It's the first adult decision of your life - and an important decision that gives you the power to save lives of up to eight other people and heal up to 75 more after death.
If you're an adult, the decision is legally binding and cannot be changed by anyone but you. If you're under 18, your parent or legal guardian has the option to affirm or alter your decision. It's important to discuss your donation wishes with your family so that they may help carry out your wishes should the unthinkable occur.
