A few months before her death, my daughter and I went to get her a State Identification card. My daughter was asked if she wanted to be an organ donor, to which she immediately replied "Yes!". My daughter saw me cringe at the thought of death and donation. Her EXACT words then were "Maybe I
could help someone SEE! Why wouldn't you want to do that?!

On March 19th of this year my husband passed away. He donated his heart valves, corneas, liver and tissues. The organs that couldn't be harvested are now in medical studies. Keep spreading the word so others will feel comfortable sharing the gift of life.

I joined the Ohio Donor Registry to be able to help others after I am gone. To give such a gift to those who are in need is a wonderful thing.

I think it’s my responsibility to provide organs to those who need them. I don’t see burying a healthy organ when I could help to extend somebody’s life.

It wasn’t an emotional decision. Really just a practical one, I guess. When I no longer have use for my body and its organs, someone else might as well use them. It seemed like the right thing to do. I really couldn't think of any reason not to be an organ donor.
