The American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) is a scientific, not-for-profit, peer group organization founded in 1976 to facilitate the provision of transplantable cells and tissues of uniform high quality in quantities sufficient to meet national needs.

The Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) is a private, nonprofit organization representing the 58 U.S. Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs). OPOs evaluate potential donors, discuss donation with family members, arrange for the surgical removal, preservation and distribution of donated organs. AOPO works to maximize the availability of organs and tissues and enhance the quality, effectiveness and integrity of the donation process.

The mission of the National Minority Organ and Tissue Transplant Education Program, (MOTTEP®) is to decrease the number and rate of ethnic minority Americans needing organ and tissue transplants. MOTTEP® will achieve its mission by implementing a national information and education campaign that emphasizes both prevention and intervention strategies.
